As budget season is upon us, I would like to encourage you to attend the November 21, 2024 School Board meeting. Mark Manganiello, from the NHED Bureau of School Finance, will present these topics specifically for the towns of Carroll, Dalton, Jefferson, Lancaster and Whitefield.
1. Adequacy formula changes
2. Enrollment decline counters with aid adjustments
3. Property growth and its effect on extraordinary needs grant
4. Free and Reduced meals eligibility and its effect on adequacy aid
5. Impact of property tax base and extraordinary needs grant
6. Confusions over how new valuations will impact property tax rates
School funding is complex, and this is an opportunity to ask clarifying questions to help you understand the state, local, and federal funding that affects your taxes! This meeting will be held at the Carroll Town Hall at 6:00 PM, November 21, 2024.

Veterans, active-duty service members, and community members are welcome.
